Sanford is buzzing with creativity. Literally. As part of the city’s Bee City USA designation, the Sanford Appearance Commission recently unveiled four artist-designed fiberglass bee sculptures celebrating the importance of native pollinators. Sponsored by Downtown Sanford, Inc., the DSI Bee was hand-painted by artist Jacalyn McAlister and will be installed downtown as a permanent fixture. Each sculpture honors Sanford’s commitment to sustainability and showcases the talent of local artists. Keep an eye out and see if you can spot all four buzzing around town.
