Rogue Toys

For collectors, Rogue Toys is a must-visit destination. Founded in 2012 by Krystal Lopez, the company is nationally recognized as the collectible experts featured on History Channel’s Pawn Stars.

The North Carolina store, owned by military veteran Matthew Sarmiento, became the company’s first franchise when it opened in Downtown Sanford in August 2024. Matthew, who began working for Rogue Toys while coping with PTSD after his military service, eventually managed all of the company’s Las Vegas stores before bringing the brand to Sanford. He opened with a $3,000 Star Wars collection and much of his own personal collection. Just six months later, the store had outgrown its original Chatham Street location and relocated to its larger home at 113 Wicker Street.

Today, Rogue Toys offers an incredible selection of collectible toys and memorabilia for fans of all ages.

H&H Auto Parts

Some businesses earn their reputation over decades, and H&H Auto Parts is exactly that kind of place. Open since February of 1959, this Sanford staple has been a trusted name in lawnmower repair and machine shop services for 67 years and counting. Fairview Dairy Mural

The Yarborough family has been part of Sanford’s story since 1927, when they founded Fairview Dairy with just ten cows to supply milk for the entire city. The mural on the west-facing wall of Yarborough’s Ice Cream at 132 McIver Street pays tribute to that history in vivid detail, with three-dimensional cows emerging from the frame and milk and ice cream popping off the facade. Created by artist Chris Dalton, it holds the distinction of being the first 3D mural in North Carolina, a title that makes it well worth a stop on any downtown visit.

Pies Pizza keeps things simple and does it well. This casual downtown spot specializes in pizzas with a menu broad enough to satisfy just about any craving. Classic options like the Pepperoni Perfecto and Meat Lovers share space with more adventurous picks like the Feta & Fig, Korean BBQ Chicken, and the Pepperoni Dragon 100, which comes loaded with over 100 slices of pepperoni on a 14-inch pie. Wings, calzones, and salads round out the menu, and dessert pies including apple turnover and cherry pie make it worth saving room.
