Common Thread Weaving Studio is a one-of-a-kind space in downtown Sanford where creativity, craftsmanship, and community impact all come together. Operated entirely by volunteers, the nonprofit studio serves as both a working weaving space and a classroom where students learn the art of hand-weaving on a dozen looms. Using donated fibers often repurposed from local carpet mills, volunteers transform leftover materials into bags, placemats, and other woven goods, with all proceeds supporting organizations that uplift families across Lee County.
